Brie
BrieRecreational Director & Competitive Coach
Hi, I am coach Brie! Gymnastics has been a huge part of my life since before I was born. I was fortunate to have been raised in a gymnastics world with parents who coached gymnastics and brought me to the gym regularly. I began my own gymnastics career on the training team when I was 5 years old and continued competing through high school as a Level 8 gymnast. This totaled 13 years of experience as a competitive gymnast! After graduating high school, I attended West Virginia University where I obtained a Bachelor degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology with a minor in Communications and Human Service. In addition to competing in gymnastics, I coached throughout my high school and college career. I began coaching recreational classes at the original East Coast Gymnastics facility. I loved coaching and eventually moved to coaching Level 4 team. I currently coach the East Coast Gymnastics Level 3 team and am the Recreational Program Director. My new position as program director is a dream come true! My goal this year is to teach my kiddos life skills as well as gymnastics skills.
Hunter
HunterNinja Director & Recreational Coach
I joined East Coast as a student of Ninja back in 2016 and absolutely loved it. It was a time that taught me the proper forms and techniques I needed to be good at the sport. I craved the adrenaline of vaulting over obstacles and the satisfaction of successfully completing an obstacle.
I began coaching with East Coast in May of 2021, first with ninja and then started into gymnastics. I really enjoy working at East Coast because I am able to not only show the kids how to do certain obstacles and skills, but also to instruct them on how to do them properly is very fulfilling. When they take the lessons and apply them, so that they finally beat an obstacle or do a skill successfully, is very rewarding.
My goal is to pass down the skills I’ve been taught to my students and help them become their best selves. I was so proud when I taught a student and he would become the best one on his team.

Dagan
DaganNinja Coach
I have been involved in Ninja for the past 6 years! It has taught me how I would want to be taught as a kid and in doing so it is making me a better coach. I have been doing ninja with East Coast since 2015 and have been coaching since January 2021.
I love working at East Coast because of the environment and all the people are great to work with and the kids too. I am hoping that as a coach I can help the kids get better and teach them new skills every time they come back. One of my proudest coaching moments, was when I taught one of my students how to do the warp wall and he got it the first day he was there.
Sam
SamRecreational Coach
Coach Sam first entered into the gymnastics world at 6 years old. She competed throughout her school career, reaching level 10 and qualifying to regionals. After high school, Sam competed on the gymnastics team for Wilson College. As team captain, she contributed scores to the team all-around, competed in Nationals (ranking 17th on floor and 19th in AA), and broke her school floor record.

While in high school, Sam decided to share her love of gymnastics with the younger generation. She began coaching recreational team at 14 before coaching Levels 8 – Elite in college. After graduating college with a Masters in Elementary Education, Sam returned to Winchester to work as an elementary teacher and to coach at East Coast Gymnastics. She has coached multiple levels and has extensive experience choreographing routines, as well as training coaches.

Sam took a break from coaching to take on the role of instructional coach for her school and to have 2 sons, Malakai and Micah. Back from her hiatus, she is having a great time coaching kids of all ages and levels. Outside of having a true love and dedication for the sport of gymnastics, she has since gained her administrator license and works as Assistant Principal for Daniel Morgan Intermediate School.

Kaitlyn
KaitlynRecreational Coach
Hi, I’m Coach Kaitlyn! I’ve been involved with gymnastics for almost 12 years now, by either participating or coaching. Gymnastics taught me hard work, sportsmanship and determination. I love coaching kids because it inspires me every day to learn new things and be excited about every day!

Right now I’m on a path to become a teacher and I love using my knowledge from the school day with my students at gymnastics. I love to incorporate learning into gymnastics to make it fun! I love being involved with teaching and coaching because it enables me to be a difference in a child’s life.

East Coast has an amazing environment that provides for every type of student. I believe East Coast is making a huge difference by believing in every child and helping them grow.

Janine
JaninePrincipal & Head Teacher
I have been teaching for 20 years in various grades from Pre-K to 6th grade. I knew I wanted to be a teacher since the age of 10 when I was a Junior Leader in the local 4-H club. Seeing the joy on a child’s face when they learn something new is the best feeling in the world!

I helped open East Coast Christian Academy in 2021 and it has been the best move of my career so far! The students and families I work with are caring, eager to learn, and supportive!

Carlene
CarleneNinja & Recreational Coach
My gymnastics journey began at age six in recreational classes then later becoming a competitive career. On the gymnastics side, I reached Level 6, but by age 12, I switched to Trampoline and Tumbling (or T&T). I earned multiple State and Regional titles up to Level 8.

Along the way, I have learned from several Olympians and World Champions. I am also a judge for T&T. My love for coaching gymnastics, T&T, and cheer began at age 14 and it has grown ever since. My passion is working with kids and I can live that out here at East Coast!
